Tyler Independent School
District
As the largest
school district in Northeast Texas, Tyler ISD encompasses 193 square miles,
maintains a total of 35 campus and auxiliary facilities, and serves an
enrollment of approximately 16,000 students. The District's on-site management
policy enables administrators and teachers at each campus to implement programs
responsive to the particular needs of its student body.
With academic achievement as its primary objective, TISD takes strong measures
to ensure a positive, safe and orderly learning environment, to instill
self-discipline, and to enforce standards of excellence throughout the system.
Whitehouse Independent
School District
We are located six
miles south of Tyler in a beautiful piney woods area west of Lake Tyler in East
Texas. There are about 4000 students being educated in our district each day,
ranging from early childhood to twelfth grade, on six campuses. We employ
approximately 485 staff members, including about 240 certified teachers and
were recently named by the Texas Education Agency as a recognized district.
Lindale Independent
School District
Lindale ISD,
located primarily in Smith County with a portion extending into Van Zandt
County is an agricultural area that includes the City of Lindale, a retail
point located on U.S. Highway 69. The 1990 population was 2,428, an 11.4%
increase since 1980. A producer of frozen berries employs over 50 people. Many
residents commute to Tyler for jobs. Hide-A-Way Lake, an exclusive lake resort
community, lies within the District.
